RE: Leaving Tetons heading South to Rawlins Wy

We had just left Jackson last week and did the Teton pass in our DSDP. We did it and I' m glad we have an engine break but I wouldn't recomend it especially if you have something in tow. We went back another way around and of added about 80 or so miles but no stress as compared to the Teton Pass.

5th wheel problem

My cousin has a '08 keystone cougar model 311 5'er and he is now on his 2nd full set of tires with less than 8 k miles. The inner treads have been wearing down on both axels. Is this an axel problem or something different to look for? Thanks

RE: I 95 in South Carolina is dangerous to air bags!

That stretch on 95 in South Carolina is a disgrace. I dread driving that and jump in the left hand lane as well, traffic permitting, which isn't often. Also the 95 by-pass around Richmond does have a real nasty bump also that was already mentioned however it does need mentioning again.

RE: Allison Service in Orlando?

I used them last year to dyno my rig. They were very nice to deal with and very accomidating. I highly reccomend them.

RE: Share your 5 best.....

Don't accidentally hook the water hose to the black water flush inlet thinking you were hooking up the water source for the RV and then marvel at the sight of your black water tank contents coming out your roof vent after a few minutes!
Been there and done that after a very long day of driving and discovered my error when my 9 year old came running outside screaming that the toilet was "about to blow".. Very scary.

RE: Camping Season is coming

We actually got out last weekend and it was the first time that we camped in the winter. We were close to the bathhouse and got our showers there. I didn't de-winterize but we did use the toilet but not the fresh water system. There was only 5 other campers there so it was kinda nice. We woke up to the white stuff on Sunday however it was gone by noon time-just a coating. Can't wait til spring.

RE: How much should i pay?

I know I'm not talking about a motorhome here but its still a high dollar object and it just shows the state of the economy. My brother was looking at a 2008 left over 44ft Sea Ray boat. It originally listed in the low 800's. Not only did they take his boat in trade, they gave him exactly what he still owed on it and the final sale price of the boat was in the high 400's. He walked away several times but they kept on calling him back. So get a price that you're willing to pay and stick with it, it is a buyers market now. Good luck.

RE: How many miles is to many for a Used Class A Motorhome?

Hey Dave how are you, its been a while since I ran into you on the old HDT site. Anyway, after much hesitation, we sold our Volvo and 5'er last spring since the wife and kids still felt kinda cramped in the Volvo. We found a used Dutch Star 4091 pusher with on 30 k miles on it and can't believe how happy we are. We tow a van behind us and don't even feel it back there. I know that you're going to pull all yours toys so in my opinion a pusher is your only choice with the kind of weight you'll be hauling. As you found out before, you definitely don't want to be under powered especially with all the toys on. Good luck and make sure you post your final outcome.

RE: Please, we need your prayers: UPDATE.

Rick,
I just went to Lexi's webpage, very touching and a beautiful tribute. I hope that your sorrows eases in 2009 and wish you and your family nothing but the best.
